WINTER CLASSIC - LEAFS VS RED WINGS

On Wednesday January 1st, 2014, The Toronto Maple Leafs & Detroit Red Wings played their first games of the new years respectively, they both hard for the two points, and both enjoyed and had a memorable time. The leafs played a hard fought game, and won in the shootout, 3-2. Both coaches had a great time, despite the -11 degrees weather that Detroit had. Both goalies had played exceptional in the winter classic, with some key saves and key moments that made their teams at least get 1 point in their conference. Jonathan Bernier was caught for the trademark" hands in your pants" technique for keeping his hands warm during the game, with his teammates catching a laugh at the antic. A lot of players battled through the cold weather, and enjoyed the childhood memories it brought and were proud to be a part of history. Both teams were surprised at the amount of people that came out to watch this game and support their teams. The amount of people at the "big house" was record breaking and put a icing on the cake to a great winter classic.

  1. Very appropriate post. Question for you...why do you think the NHL even has a Winter Classic??? What are it's reasons in terms of marketing?
